Roll away your stone, I'll roll away mine

Hi worker bees!
Sorry about the delay in this post, I keep sitting down to blog but then getting all caught up watching the lympics and dreaming that I lived back in caveman times with Jessica Ennis who would go out and run fast and throw spears and catch our dinner while i stayed around the cave cooking and occasionally nipping out to gather berries and leaves to accompany our sabre tooth tiger stew.
With this in mind, and, after a weekend of most Olympic behavior my post is for all you ne'er do wells that are STILL moaning about the games.  Supposedly intelligent people that are obviously so dim witted as they cannot see the benefit of having a '£12bn sportsday' on our doorsteps.  This post is for you... oh and by the way you have no actual argument against it and you make yourself sound stupid when you try :)

Taffs Top Ten Reasons the Olympics in London is Brilliant!!!

10.  This Man can Suck It---------

You know in Ghostbusters II when all the good feelings around New York breaks the 'mood slime'
That is the equivalent as to what is happening to Nick Griffin right at this moment.  As mixed race athletes, immigrants and any Brit remotely different to his ideal romp home with medals of all shapes and sizes he melts a little with every cheer (thats whats happening to his face).  As we all become closer as a nation and show that we support EVERY brit no matter where or who they are people like this fall from the limelight and become what they should be... a distant bad memory.

9.  This man can Thrive----

If you're a hater then you probably haven't noticed that the beebs coverage of this games has been beyond brilliant.
Through digital television and internet and smartphones and all the gadgetry that we have you can no longer fail to catch an event that you're interested in or catch up on the days actions.  Now why is this good for us I hear you ask... Well this is a brand new system that bbc are trying, and, it works.  Which means as they are now capable of broadcasting 24 live events at any one time.  Which for the future means that we can expect to no longer be 'bored' by whats on tv.  For instance I lament the fact that F1 is allowed on television, let alone consuming a whole weekend of broadcasting, but, their new system can theoretically broadcast other sports and normal television at the same time, so, hopefully we wont need to be exposed to the sports we don't enjoy anymore.

8.  This Lady is Everywhere---------

Jess, Jennis, J-O.  Call her what you will, the most popular member of team GB and the nations sporting poster girl will only gain popularity at these games.  And that means one thing... more exposure!  Which means we get to see more of the most perfect all round athlete in the world. (I love you Jess)

7.  New Sports ---------

For all those people whinging about sport, oh I hate sports, why does it have to always be on, why do my normal programs have to make way for this rubbish.
Are you telling me that for all the events that are happening there is not one single one you have enjoyed?  You're lying.  Even my mother who has scarcely the knowledge to identify a tennis ball from a football has sat down and said how much she is enjoying the 'horse dancing' and the mens gymnastics (worrying).  These people haven't given sport a chance.  The Olympic games are going to introduce us all to sports we know nothing about, more importantly they can help the people who havent found their niche sport yet, but want to sport.  English handball association website has crashed several time due to 'heavy traffic' and just you wait and see how many people are going to be falling off racing bikes at the end of the games.

6.  British is best -----

Olympic Park, City of Coventry Stadium (Ricoh Arena), Earls Court, Eton Dorney, Greenwich,  Hadleigh Farm, Hampden Park, Hampton Court Palace, MPC, Leigh Valley, Lords, Old Trafford, St James' Park, The Mall, Royal Artillery Barracks, Riverbank, Weymouth and the Millennium Stadium.
This isnt the London games, this Olympic games belongs to Great Britain.  Its a chance to show off everywhere not just London.

5.  Triumphant Boris -----------

He is a leader!  The more this man is exposed to the rest of the world the better.  I dont doubt his expensive education and im sure he is highly intelligent.  But the best thing about Boris is he shows the world you dont have to be a serious Sidney all the time.  Do as Boris does.

4. Profiles for Pounds -----

Know who that is????  Neither does the rest of the world.  Its Zoe Smith, she only eighteen and she just competed in Olympic weightlifting for her country.  Shes not alone, other unknown athletes that will be pulling on the old Stella McCartney for these games like Rebecca Tunney or Alison Young or even Adam Gemili who just held his own in an Olympic 100m semi final at the age of 18.  They are all just children essentially.  But the fact the games are in the UK gives them the opportunity to raise their profiles sky high, all they have to do is give it their all and the nation will love them.  Then they can invite more sponsorship and command themselves a career out of a sport they love.

3.  Regeneration of London -----------

I had the pleasure of spending a few months in the East End of London after i graduated in 2005.  It is safe to say it does not look now like it did back then.
Jobs, tourism, access to sport and activities and the worlds biggest McDonalds, nuff said.

2.  Inspire a Generation -----

Not just the motto of this Olympiad but truer words never spoken.
For the haters just think ahead, with British athletes thriving in their home games it will only have a positive effect on the next generation.
Maybe you have children, maybe you dont, but think on... Sucess in this games means more funding for sports, more youth sports clubs and teams, better quality coaching and less chance your/future offspring growing up lazy.  Also for the first time in a long time the young generation of Great Britain can have some seriously powerful role models like Jess Ennis, Zoe Smith, Brad Wiggins and Even Oscar Pestorias (i know hes not TeamGB),  wouldnt you rather your kids have posters of these people on their walls rather than Amy Childs, Justin Bieber or John Terry??

1.  Hollybobs??? ---------

In 1954 the Jamaican authorities were so impressed by the heart shown by their 4x100m relay team they declared a national holiday, that is still in force to this day!!
After last nights epic performances in Olympic Park don't be surprised if the UK reaps the benefit of an extra bank holiday in August, think of that... an extra summer Bank Holiday!
For everyone I have heard speak out against the games, I have noted who you are and fully expect you to not take this extra holiday should it arise, after all it would be morally wrong for you to be rewarded for your cynicism.

That's the bottom line then peeps.... one week left of Olympic goodness I hope you all find your fave and most of all cheer for your country men (and ladies).  This really is a once in a lifetime event, so embrace it don't disgrace it.

This is the beeb commentary team watching magic Mo last night in the 10000m final, showing some truly British traits...
