And when I touch you I feel happy inside

bon nuit you bloggy bastards.
yeas I know i said id be more regular, yes i know i said last week that id 'definitely' blog. but here's the stone skinny; its not that i dont enjoy writing for your gazes, its not as if i dont appreciate your reviews and tweets and emails asking when my next post will be, its also not like i am unmotivated or dont have the time to sit and throw a few words onto the tafftop.  Here's the main/only issue for me at the moment; i dont know what to write about.  With little on the horizon in terms of events that are noteworthy, not much in terms of sports and im all movied out, I have some serious writers block, so hows about you tell me a few of the things you'd like to hear my two cents on.
At some point this month, with crimbo just around the corner i'll be writing (and hopefully publishing) a 'HOW TO GET A DECENT PRESENT' guide, certain people will learn a very important lesson in gift giving from this so recommend it to your friends/partners/pets in the hopes of achieving a box on the 25th December that contains more than a multi pack of haribo.
So since my last post we have well and truly waved goodbye to the summer sun, the air has got cooler and the pj's have found their way out of storage and back onto our chilly battys for the night times.
But i dont mind this too much.  I love the summer time, i love having the warm sunshine blasting down on my swede and being able to sit on the grass without fear of developing that embarrassing wet bum patch that makes you look like a wet baby.  But the autumn and winter has benefit too, but, before we progress onto those let me just let you know that just because the dark season have these certain things to look forward too, they in no way make up for wind, icy footpaths or cold ears.  Those three peeves aside, here are the best things about autumn and winter....

During the summer, when we pull out the plims and the drilles, or god forbid the flops we forget the simple pleasure of throwing a big pair of fluffy socks on!! Fluffy socks are the shizzle.

Hot, chunky soup! enough said!

Living in the countryside I imagine I see a lot more of this than some of you, but when that pesky wind gets up, it blows the crunchy leaves around the place... when they arent slapping you full on in the mush its quite funky!

While we're on the subject of crunchy scenery, i like when its frosty in the morning and you step out onto the fresh scrunchycruncy grass, its a very satisfying noise. (Thats one of my pics btw, tres uninspiring to gaze upon)

Halloween baby!!!  Not so much for the armies of chavs wearing bin liners banging on your door and demanding cash for make believe 'trick or treats'. I like Halloween.  Especially if you can get to a good halloween party with some good friends, you can expect good things like hot baked potatoes  chilies carved pumpkins, apple bobbing, hot chocolate and cockle warming whiskey treats.

While we're on the subject of occasion, bonfire night is always good just after Halloween.  Again, not for the massive loud fireworks, the best thing about november 5th is getting out on a freezing night, with your warmest undies on and a nice toasty pair of gloves and watching them with a hot drink a hot dog and hot date.

(Lightsout powercut, jan 2012)

flickery candles, crackly fires, heavy knits, warm blankets, winter movies, hot chocolates, roast vegetables, hoodies, onesies and hot toddies.
